Hosea 4:14
“I will not punish your daughters when they play the prostitute, nor your brides when they commit adultery; because the men consort with prostitutes, and they sacrifice with the shrine prostitutes; so the people without understanding will come to ruin.”
What does Hosea 4:14 mean?
God is describing a cycle of moral breakdown where everyone—men and women alike—has turned away from Him and toward practices tied to false worship. Rather than singling out women for judgment, He's pointing out that the men bear responsibility too, since they're actively participating in the same sins they might condemn in others. The verse captures something deeply human: when a whole community normalizes wrongdoing, everyone gets caught in it together. The "people without understanding" aren't necessarily intellectually foolish, but rather people who have deliberately turned away from wisdom and accountability, choosing immediate desires over lasting truth.
