What does Hosea 2:6 mean?
God is describing what happens when we persistently turn away from Him—He allows circumstances to become difficult, almost like hitting walls or obstacles at every turn. This isn't punishment driven by anger, but rather God's loving refusal to make it easy for us to keep going in a direction that will destroy us. Sometimes the kindest thing a parent can do is make the wrong path harder to walk, so their child will reconsider and turn back. In Hosea's time, Israel had abandoned God for other gods and false securities, and God is saying He'll make that path increasingly painful until they realize they've lost their way and need to return to Him.
