Hosea 14:2
“Take words with you, and return to Yahweh. Tell him, “Forgive all our sins, and accept that which is good: so we offer our lips like bulls.”
What does Hosea 14:2 mean?
When we've wandered away from God, this verse reminds us that coming back starts with honest words. We don't need to perform grand gestures or prove ourselves worthy first, just to speak plainly about what we've done wrong and ask for forgiveness. The image of offering our lips "like bulls" (the best sacrifices in ancient worship) shows that what God actually wants from us is genuine confession and repentance, not rituals performed from empty hearts. It's an invitation to return with vulnerability and sincerity, trusting that God is ready to listen and restore.
