Hebrews 7:24
βBut he, because he lives forever, has his priesthood unchangeable.β
What does Hebrews 7:24 mean?
Jesus holds his role as our priest permanently because he never dies, unlike the human priests who came before him. When a priest died in the old system, someone else had to take over, making the role unstable and requiring constant replacement. But Jesus, being alive forever, means his ability to represent us before God and care for our spiritual needs never passes to anyone else or gets interrupted. This gives us the incredible assurance that the one interceding for us right now will still be doing so forever, with perfect consistency and unbroken commitment.
