What does Hebrews 6:9 mean?
The writer of Hebrews has just painted a stark picture of spiritual danger—people who turn away from God's grace and can't be restored. But here, he pauses and speaks directly to his readers with deep affection, saying he doesn't actually believe that grim fate applies to them. He's confident they're showing genuine marks of salvation: love, service, and faith that won't fade. His harsh warning wasn't meant to condemn them, but to wake them up and protect what they've already found in Jesus. Sometimes the most loving thing someone can do is speak hard truth while still believing the best of you.
