What does Hebrews 11:20 mean?
Isaac's blessing of his sons was an act of faith, which might seem surprising at first. When this elderly father pronounced blessings over Jacob and Esau, he couldn't see the future clearly, and he didn't fully understand what God was doing. Yet he spoke those blessings anyway, trusting that God's purposes would unfold through his words. What made this remarkable was that Isaac blessed them regarding things he couldn't verify or control. He trusted that when he spoke God's blessing into their lives, it would matter for their futures in ways beyond his understanding.
