What does Hebrews 11:18 mean?
Abraham had waited decades for a son, and when Isaac was finally born, God asked him to do the unthinkable: offer the boy as a sacrifice. Yet Abraham went forward, trusting that God would somehow keep his promise. This verse points to the heart of that moment, when Abraham believed God so deeply that even facing Isaac's death, he held onto the promise that his descendants would come through Isaac. The phrase "accounted as from Isaac" means God would honor that family line, that the covenant and blessing would flow through this particular son. Abraham's willingness to surrender what God had given him, while still trusting God to preserve it, shows a faith that doesn't need to understand everything ahead of time.
