Genesis 6:22
βThus Noah did. He did all that God commanded him.β
What does Genesis 6:22 mean?
Noah followed through completely on an enormous and bewildering task. God had asked him to build an ark in advance of a flood no one else believed was coming, to gather animals of every kind, and to prepare for something that had never happened before. Instead of hesitating or negotiating, Noah simply did what he was asked, trusting God even when it made no earthly sense to anyone around him. This short statement captures something powerful about faithfulness: it's not about understanding everything or having the approval of others, but about taking the next step you've been given and following through, even when the whole situation seems impossible.
