What does Genesis 5:22 mean?

Enoch had a remarkable spiritual life marked by intimacy with God. The phrase "walked with God" suggests a deep, consistent relationship where his whole life was oriented toward God's presence, not just occasional prayers or moments of faith. What makes this unusual is that despite living in a world growing increasingly distant from God (as the chapter shows), Enoch maintained this closeness for three centuries while also building a family and fulfilling his everyday responsibilities. His example shows that a vibrant spiritual life isn't separate from ordinary living but woven through it, and that staying connected to God is possible even in difficult times.
