What does Genesis 5:2 mean?

God blessed both the man and woman at creation, calling them both by the name Adam, which means "humanity" or "humankind." This reminds us that being made in God's image is a shared dignity and calling that belongs equally to men and women from the very start. The blessing wasn't given to one person alone, but to both together, suggesting that wholeness and flourishing were always meant to be experienced in relationship and partnership.
