Genesis 48:15
“He blessed Joseph, and said, “The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked, the God who has fed me all my life long to this day,”
What does Genesis 48:15 mean?
Jacob is near the end of his life, blessing his son Joseph's two boys. He's reflecting on how God has been faithful through generations, from Abraham and Isaac down through his own journey, providing and protecting him through decades of struggle, loss, and complicated relationships. When he says God "has fed me all my life long," he means sustained him in every way, not just physically but through the hardships that made life meaningful. This blessing carries the weight of a man who's lived long enough to see God's faithfulness tested and proven real across the span of an entire lifetime.
