Genesis 47:31

What does Genesis 47:31 mean?
Jacob is near the end of his life, and he's asking his son Joseph to make a solemn promise that he'll be buried back in Canaan rather than in Egypt, where they've been living. Joseph swears the oath, and Jacob responds by bowing in worship, recognizing God's faithfulness in this moment. It's a beautiful image of an aging father finding peace through his son's commitment to honor his final wishes and his connection to the land God promised his family. In that gesture of bowing, Jacob affirms his trust that God's covenant with Abraham will continue even after he's gone.
