What does Genesis 46:23 mean?
This brief line records one son born to Dan during Jacob's time in Egypt. Hushim appears in the genealogy that traces Jacob's family line as it entered Egypt, showing how the twelve tribes of Israel began to multiply and establish themselves there. Though we know little about Hushim individually, his name is preserved as part of the family record that matters deeply in Scripture: God was fulfilling his promise to multiply Abraham's descendants into a great nation.
