What does Genesis 46:18 mean?

Zilpah was Leah's servant, given to her as part of her marriage arrangement with Jacob. Through Zilpah, Leah had four sons (Gad, Asher, and two others), and the verse counts all their descendants who eventually went to Egypt with Jacob's family, totaling sixteen people. This line appears in the context of Jacob preparing his entire household for the journey to Egypt, so the census-like accounting reminds us that even the children born through servants were counted as full members of Jacob's family and covenant line. It's a small but meaningful detail showing that in God's economy, these lives and their descendants mattered.
