What does Genesis 44:9 mean?
When Joseph's steward accuses Benjamin's brothers of stealing a cup, Judah makes this rash promise on behalf of all of them, confident in their innocence. He's saying that whoever stole it deserves death, and the rest of them will become slaves as punishment.
