What does Genesis 42:1 mean?
Jacob notices that while his family is starving during a famine, grain is available down in Egypt. Rather than sit passively and watch his sons look to each other in worry and uncertainty, he's pushing them to take action and go find food. It's a moment of a father recognizing that his household needs him to lead, even when circumstances feel desperate.
