What does Genesis 41:26 mean?
Pharaoh's chief butler and baker had been puzzling over their own strange dreams while imprisoned, and now Joseph stands before the most powerful man in Egypt to interpret his dream of seven fat cattle consumed by seven starving ones, and seven healthy grain stalks swallowed by seven withered ones. Joseph explains that both parts of the dream are really saying the same thing: Egypt will experience seven years of abundance followed by seven years of severe famine. The repetition of the dream in two different forms isn't accidental or confusing, but rather God's way of emphasizing the certainty of what's coming and making sure Pharaoh truly understands the urgency of the message. Sometimes when we're warned about something twice, in different ways, it's a signal to pay close attention and prepare.
