What does Genesis 40:23 mean?
After Joseph interpreted the cupbearer's dream in prison, he asked for help getting out of that place. The cupbearer promised to mention Joseph to Pharaoh once he was restored to his position, but then completely forgot about him. It's a deeply human moment, capturing that familiar sting of being overlooked or abandoned by someone you'd helped, especially when you desperately needed them. What makes this verse meaningful is that Joseph had to wait two more years in prison before his path forward finally opened up.
