Genesis 40:13
“Within three more days, Pharaoh will lift up your head, and restore you to your office. You will give Pharaoh’s cup into his hand, the way you did when you were his cup bearer.”
What does Genesis 40:13 mean?
Joseph is speaking to Pharaoh's cupbearer, who's been imprisoned alongside him, and he's offering an interpretation of the man's dream. Joseph tells him that in three days, he'll be released and restored to his position of trust, serving wine to Pharaoh just as he did before. This is good news after what must have felt like endless captivity, a promise that the cupbearer's life will return to normal and that he'll be valued again. The phrase "lift up your head" is a tender way of saying he'll be restored to dignity and honor, not just physically freed but actually welcomed back into favor.
