Genesis 39:5
“From the time that he made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, Yahweh blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake. Yahweh’s blessing was on all that he had, in the house and in the field.”
What does Genesis 39:5 mean?
Joseph had been sold into slavery in Egypt, but his character and faithfulness caught the attention of his master Potiphar, who put him in charge of his entire household. This verse tells us that God's blessing didn't abandon Joseph even in captivity, and remarkably, that blessing extended to Potiphar's whole estate because of Joseph's presence there.
