What does Genesis 33:11 mean?
Jacob is finally meeting his estranged brother Esau after years of fear and separation, and he's offering him an enormous gift of livestock. When Jacob says God has "dealt graciously" with him, he's acknowledging that his wealth and security come from God's blessing, not from his own scheming (which had defined so much of his earlier life). By insisting that Esau accept the gift, Jacob is doing something deeper than just being generous, he's trying to make peace and restore what he'd broken between them years before.
