Genesis 31:13
“I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed a pillar, where you vowed a vow to me. Now arise, get out from this land, and return to the land of your birth.’””
What does Genesis 31:13 mean?
God is reminding Jacob of a pivotal moment from years earlier, when Jacob fled his home and encountered God at Bethel. At that time, Jacob made a promise to follow God in exchange for protection and blessing, marking his first real commitment to the God of his fathers. Now, after decades of working for his uncle Laban, God is calling Jacob back to his roots and reminding him that He remembers what Jacob promised.
