What does Genesis 25:14 mean?
This brief genealogy lists three sons of Ishmael, Abraham's son through Hagar. These names represent the descendants who became Arabian tribes and peoples, spreading across the desert regions east and south of Canaan. While the verse itself is just a list of names, it's part of the Bible's way of honoring Ishmael's line and reminding us that God's promises extended not only to Isaac (through whom Jesus would come) but also to Ishmael, whose descendants God said would become a great nation.
