Genesis 24:56
“He said to them, “Don’t hinder me, since Yahweh has prospered my way. Send me away that I may go to my master.””
What does Genesis 24:56 mean?
Abraham's servant has traveled to find a wife for Isaac, and after meeting Rebekah and her family, he's eager to return home with her. When her relatives ask him to stay longer, he politely but firmly refuses, explaining that God has already blessed his mission and he needs to complete it. His words show a beautiful trust that when God opens a door, we don't need to delay or second-guess the next step. Sometimes the kindest thing people can do for us is let us move forward on the path we're meant to take, rather than holding us back with good intentions.
