What does Genesis 22:14 mean?
Abraham names the place where God stopped him from sacrificing his son with words that mean "the Lord will provide," turning his moment of deepest fear into a declaration of trust. This becomes a lasting name and saying that people repeat across generations, marking the spot not as a place of death but as a place where God showed up and made a way.
