What does Genesis 21:32 mean?
After a dispute over a well, Abraham and Abimelech (the king of Gerar) worked out a peace agreement at a place they named Beersheba, which means "well of the oath." This covenant was their formal way of saying, "We're done fighting, and we're committing to treat each other fairly going forward."
