What does Genesis 21:1 mean?
After years of waiting and heartache, Sarah finally became pregnant at an age when it seemed impossible. This verse simply tells us that God kept his word, fulfilling the promise he'd made to Abraham and Sarah long before, when they had nearly given up hope. The language of God "visiting" Sarah carries the sense of divine attention and care, like someone showing up for you when you need them most.
