What does Genesis 20:11 mean?
Abraham is trying to explain why he lied about Sarah being his sister rather than his wife. He assumed the people around him had no moral restraint, so he feared they'd murder him to take her. It's a reminder of how fear can make us doubt God's protection and lead us to compromise our integrity, even when we're supposed to be walking with him. The irony is that Abraham's deception actually creates more danger than the threat he imagined, showing us that anxiety often pushes us toward the very trouble we're trying to avoid.
