Genesis 19:12
“The men said to Lot, “Do you have anybody else here? Sons-in-law, your sons, your daughters, and whoever you have in the city, bring them out of the place:”
What does Genesis 19:12 mean?
The angels who appeared to Lot are urgently telling him to gather his family and get out of Sodom immediately, because God is about to destroy the city. They're asking if he has any relatives there—sons-in-law, children, extended family—and insisting he bring them all to safety. This moment captures both God's willingness to save those connected to a righteous person and the desperate time pressure of impending judgment. Lot's response to this warning (or lack thereof) shows how hard it can be to convince even our own loved ones when we know danger is coming.
