What does Genesis 14:22 mean?
Abram is making a solemn oath here, raising his hand as a sign that he's about to speak something sacred and binding. He's addressing the king of Sodom after a military victory, and he wants to be absolutely clear that his allegiance and gratitude belong to God alone, not to earthly kings or their rewards.
