Genesis 10:9
“He was a mighty hunter before Yahweh. Therefore it is said, “like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before Yahweh”.”
What does Genesis 10:9 mean?
Nimrod earned such a reputation for strength and skill that his name became legendary, used as shorthand for anyone exceptionally powerful or bold. The phrase "before Yahweh" doesn't mean in God's presence exactly, but rather "in the sight of God," suggesting that his abilities were so obvious and impressive that they were undeniable even to God himself.
