Genesis 1:30

To every animal of the earth, and to every bird of the sky, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food;” and it was so.

What does Genesis 1:30 mean?

God is describing His provision for all living creatures at the moment of creation. He's saying that every animal, bird, and creature that moves across the earth receives green plants as food, and this arrangement is part of His design for how the world will work. It's a picture of intentional care, where God doesn't create life and then leave it to figure out survival on its own, but instead establishes a system where nourishment is already available. This verse reminds us that God's concern extends beyond humanity to the whole living world, and it suggests that the original creation was meant to be abundant enough for all creatures to thrive.
