Galatians 3:16
“Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his offspring. He doesn’t say, “To descendants”, as of many, but as of one, “To your offspring”, which is Christ.”
What does Galatians 3:16 mean?
Paul is making a careful argument here about who inherits God's promises. He's pointing out that when God made covenant promises to Abraham, He used the singular word "offspring" rather than "descendants" or "seeds," and Paul says this singular form points specifically to Christ. Rather than the promise being scattered among many people, Paul is emphasizing that Christ is the ultimate fulfillment and the one through whom all of God's purposes come. This doesn't mean other believers are left out, but rather that everything God promised flows through Jesus, making Him central to understanding what God was doing all along when He called Abraham.
