Galatians 2:21
“I don’t reject the grace of God. For if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died for nothing!””
What does Galatians 2:21 mean?
Paul is pushing back against the idea that we need to earn God's approval through keeping rules and laws. He's saying that if we could become right with God just by following religious rules perfectly, then Christ's death would have been pointless, since we wouldn't need His sacrifice. What Paul means is that grace, not rule-keeping, is what actually saves us and transforms us. When we trust in Christ, we're admitting we can't earn our way to God, and that's precisely where His gift of grace becomes real and powerful in our lives.
