Galatians 2:10
“They only asked us to remember the poor—which very thing I was also zealous to do.”
What does Galatians 2:10 mean?
Paul is describing a meeting with the church leaders in Jerusalem, where they affirmed his mission to the Gentiles. Rather than imposing strict rules on him, they asked for just one thing: that he and his companions remember the poor in the church as they traveled and taught. Paul responds by saying this request aligned perfectly with his own heart—he was already eager to do exactly that. It's a beautiful moment showing agreement between different leaders, and it reveals that genuine faith naturally leads to caring for those who are struggling. When we're truly following Jesus, concern for the vulnerable isn't something we have to be convinced to do; it becomes part of who we are.
