What does Ezra 8:11 mean?

This verse is part of a list documenting exactly who returned from exile in Babylon to rebuild Jerusalem, and how many people came with them. Zechariah led a group of twenty-eight men from the family line of Bebai, and the careful record-keeping shows how God gathered people from scattered families to accomplish the work of restoration. These names and numbers might seem tedious to read, but they represent real families rebuilding their lives and their community after decades of displacement. The detail matters because it shows that everyone who returned, no matter how small their group, was counted and valued in God's plan to restore his people.
