What does Ezra 7:18 mean?
King Artaxerxes of Persia had just given Ezra generous resources to rebuild Jerusalem's temple and support its worship. This verse captures the moment when the king essentially says: you and your team have my full authorization to use whatever funds remain however you see fit, as long as it aligns with your God's purposes. There's something striking about this trust. Artaxerxes wasn't micromanaging every detail, and he wasn't pretending the money was his anymore.
