Ezra 2:15

What does Ezra 2:15 mean?
This verse is part of a census list recording the Jewish families who returned from exile in Babylon to rebuild Jerusalem around 538 BCE. The "children of Adin" refers to descendants of a family line, and the number 454 tells us how many members of that household made the journey home after decades of captivity.
