Ezekiel 7:27
“The king will mourn, and the prince will be clothed with desolation. The hands of the people of the land will be troubled. I will do to them after their way, and according to their own judgments I will judge them. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.’””
What does Ezekiel 7:27 mean?
Even the most powerful leaders cannot escape the consequences of turning away from God, and this verse says both king and prince will grieve when judgment comes. The "people of the land" face turmoil because their own choices have led them away from what's right, not because God is being arbitrary. When God says "I will do to them after their way," He means He will let the natural results of their decisions unfold, rather than rescuing them from the path they've chosen. The hard truth here is that sometimes people only recognize God's reality and authority when everything they've relied on falls apart.
