Ezekiel 6:13
“You will know that I am Yahweh, when their slain men are among their idols around their altars, on every high hill, on all the tops of the mountains, under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the places where they offered pleasant aroma to all their idols.”
What does Ezekiel 6:13 mean?
This is Ezekiel describing God's judgment against those who have turned away to worship idols instead of the Lord. The vivid, sobering image shows destruction coming to the very places where people have made their offerings to false gods, from hilltops to sacred groves. Through this devastation, people will finally recognize that the Lord alone is real and powerful, even as it comes through their loss. The passage speaks to something true across all times: we often don't recognize God's reality until our false refuges fall away.
