Ezekiel 44:17

What does Ezekiel 44:17 mean?
When the priests served in God's temple, they were required to wear linen instead of wool, a detail that points to the importance of purity and respect in worship. Wool was associated with everyday wear and could shed fibers, while linen was considered cleaner and more fitting for sacred duties. This rule communicated that drawing near to God's presence demanded intentionality and care, even down to what touched their skin. For us today, while we don't wear specific garments to worship, the principle invites us to consider how we approach God with our whole selves, prepared and set apart in our hearts.
