Ezekiel 43:8
“in their setting of their threshold by my threshold, and their door post beside my door post. There was a wall between me and them; and they have defiled my holy name by their abominations which they have committed. Ttherefore I have consumed them in my anger.”
What does Ezekiel 43:8 mean?
This passage describes a spiritual separation that had grown between God and his people. The imagery of thresholds and doorposts placed side by side suggests an intimacy that was supposed to exist, but instead a wall stood between them. The people had turned to idolatry and other practices that violated what God had declared holy, treating his name as something common rather than sacred. God's response came not from petty anger but from the seriousness of this broken relationship.
