Ezekiel 39:24

What does Ezekiel 39:24 mean?
God is describing why He allowed His people to experience exile and suffering: they had turned away from Him through persistent disobedience, and He withdrew His protective presence as a consequence. This wasn't arbitrary punishment but a natural result—when we consistently reject God's ways, we lose the comfort and guidance that comes from closeness with Him. The phrase "hid my face" captures something deeply painful about spiritual distance. It doesn't mean God abandoned them forever, but rather that they experienced the loneliness of separation, which itself became the teacher.
