Ezekiel 31:10

What does Ezekiel 31:10 mean?
This passage describes a mighty cedar tree that has grown so tall and proud that it has forgotten its place in God's creation. The tree represents a powerful nation (likely Egypt) whose leaders became so confident in their own strength and beauty that they began to see themselves as beyond accountability, with their "heart lifted up" by their own success. God is pointing out something we all struggle with: when we gain power, resources, or status, we risk losing sight of the truth that everything we have comes from God and ultimately belongs to him. The warning isn't that success itself is wrong, but that it can subtly shift our hearts toward self-reliance and away from humility. God sees this shift happening and is calling it out with both grief and firmness, the way a parent might warn a child before a destructive choice.
