Ezekiel 30:21
““Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Behold, it has not been bound up, to apply medicines, to put a bandage to bind it, that it become strong to hold the sword.”
What does Ezekiel 30:21 mean?
God is telling the prophet Ezekiel that he has decisively weakened Egypt's military power, and that weakness will persist because no one can restore it. The image of a broken arm that goes untreated paints a picture of permanent damage—Egypt won't recover its strength to wage war. This was a word of encouragement for Judah, who faced pressure from Egypt's military threats during a time of national crisis. When you're frightened by someone's power over you, there's real comfort in being reminded that God sees their strength as limited and temporary, and that he can diminish it.
