Ezekiel 3:7
“But the house of Israel will not listen to you, for they will not listen to me; for all the house of Israel are obstinate and hard-hearted.”
What does Ezekiel 3:7 mean?
God is preparing Ezekiel for rejection before he even begins his ministry. Rather than sugarcoating the task ahead, the Lord tells him plainly that Israel won't receive his message—not because Ezekiel will fail as a messenger, but because the people have chosen to turn away from God himself. Their refusal to listen to the prophet is really a refusal to listen to God. This honesty about hardship can actually be a kindness. Ezekiel won't be blindsided by opposition or torment himself wondering what he did wrong.
