Ezekiel 3:17
““Son of man, I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel. Therefore hear the word from my mouth, and warn them from me.”
What does Ezekiel 3:17 mean?
God is calling Ezekiel to a difficult job: standing guard over his people and speaking hard truths when necessary. A watchman's role is to see danger coming and sound the alarm, even if no one wants to hear it. Ezekiel can't stay silent just to keep the peace, and he can't soften God's message to make it more popular. This speaks to anyone who has ever felt called to say something true even when it's uncomfortable. You're not responsible for whether people listen or change, but you are responsible for delivering the message faithfully. The weight of that calling can feel lonely, but it comes directly from God himself.
