What does Ezekiel 25:8 mean?
Moab and Seir were neighboring peoples who looked at Judah's struggles and concluded that God's people were no different from any other nation, stripped of their special calling and covenant with God. This statement of theirs sets up God's response, which is that He will vindicate His people and prove that He hasn't abandoned them, despite how things might appear during their hardship. The verse reflects a painful but familiar experience: when we're going through difficult times, others may assume our faith means nothing or that God has forgotten us. But God hears these dismissals and responds, reminding us that appearances in our worst moments don't determine our ultimate reality or God's faithfulness.
