“Can your heart endure, or can your hands be strong, in the days that I will deal with you? I, Yahweh, have spoken it, and will do it.”
What does Ezekiel 22:14 mean?
God is asking whether Judah will have the strength to survive the consequences of their unfaithfulness. The people have turned away from God's ways, and now judgment is coming, and the question isn't really seeking an answer, it's a sobering reality check, a way of saying "you won't be able to withstand what's coming." What makes this verse striking is the finality in those last words: "I, Yahweh, have spoken it, and will do it." God isn't threatening emptily or leaving room for doubt.
