Ezekiel 21:29
“while they see for you false visions, while they divine lies to you, to lay you on the necks of the wicked who are deadly wounded, whose day has come in the time of the iniquity of the end.”
What does Ezekiel 21:29 mean?
Ezekiel is speaking to the people of Jerusalem during a dark time, when false prophets are filling their heads with reassuring lies instead of truth. These prophets are telling the people what they want to hear, promising safety and victory, when actually judgment is coming. By spreading these comforting falsehoods, the false prophets are actually making things worse, laying the vulnerable on the necks of their enemies like defeated captives. The real message here is sobering: when we ignore hard truths and surround ourselves only with voices that tell us what feels good, we become defenseless against actual danger.
